As the Team Leader of the Family Centered Primary Healthcare Outreach Team some of your duties include:
  • Plan and coordinate outreach clinics
  • Liaise and assist with visiting Allied Health specialist clinics
  • Provide health promotion activities within the town and outlaying communities.
  • Contribute to the continuous quality improvement process and ensure that the service works within this framework at all times
  • Assist the team and Allied Health Care staff to ensure a high quality of client care is provided to the communities serviced by this team
You will be working for an aboriginal health service which was established in 1995.  Their vision is to support each service through the establishment of a broad network of AMS's in rural and remote NSW, and to identify and address shared issues impacting on our communities.

The Location
You will be living in a town in outback NSW which is near the junction of the Namoi River and Barwon River. The town is full of history, tranquillity and adventure. A former paddle-steamer port, the town is is the northern gateway to the Darling River Run, a fascinating journey that takes in stunning landscapes and rich history.

There is plenty to do in this charming town surrounded by rolling agricultural lands. Relax at the free Artesian Bore Baths, where water springs from the Great Artesian Basin at a naturally heated temperature of around 42C. This water has reputed therapeutic qualities.

One hour from the town is Burren Junction which is also known for its free artesian bore baths. There’s free camping on-site, as well as electricity, poolside showers, BBQ facilities, filtered water and a dump point.

There’s a strong sense of adventure in this region. Lightning Ridge is just under an hour’s drive north, where you can explore opal mines and fossick on red river banks. Drive 3hr 10min east and you’ll stumble upon Pilliga National Park, home to rugged beauty and important Aboriginal sites.

The town is based approximately 8 hours to drive from Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane. Alternatively, you can fly to Moree, which is 2.5 hours’ drive away.  

To be eligible you must:
  • Have full ahpra registration with no restrictions
  • Current drivers licence eligible for use within NSW
  • Experience providing primary healthcare across a range of settings
  • Previous experience working within aboriginal communities, program planning
  • Good written and oral communication skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a multi-disciplinary primary healthcare outreach team
  • Authority to administer immunisations in NSW
