My client are a successful co based in the Sutherland Shire. Due to expansion they're now seeking and experienced Sales/Business Development Manager from the Transport & Logistics industry (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) to join their team.

This role will suit someone who can work autonomously, has worked in a fast growth small business before & is prepared to follow up on leads, hunting new business and convert new business into sales. The role will report to both the CEO and GM.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities
  • Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business
  • Cold call as appropriate within your market to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities
  • Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining and leveraging your network
  • Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the organisation
  • Research and build relationships with new clients
  • Set up meetings with client decision maker
  • Price customers according to their requirements
  • Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately
  • Maintain your existing client base once achieved
  • Attend industry functions, networking where applicable
  • Meet with MD weekly to debrief the past week and provide weekly progress report and ensure data is accurate.
  • Meet or exceed yearly sales targets
What we are looking for:
  • Experience in a Sales Environment within Transportation of Dangerous Goods industry (at least 5 years in a Sales role would be ideal)
  • Well developed new business development skills
  • A potential customer database
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Strong self motivation, drive and initiative
  • Must speak fluent English
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate clearly and in a professional manner
  • Strong multi tasking skills; ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
