The Role 

We're looking for a great, truly outstanding Marketing and Communications Coordinator to join our collaborative Marketing team in Cairns. Your excellent communication and collaboration skills go without saying, as does your passion for people and creating extraordinary guest experiences.

As our Marketing and Communications Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting the Marketing and Communications Managers at each hotel, in all aspect of the hotel's marketing. We are looking for a positive, can-do person who can juggle several projects at the same time, is efficient, has excellent attention to detail and strong administration skills. This is a broad marketing and administration role encompassing brand, communications, public relations, digital and social media, advertising, sponsorship and CRM management.

You will collaborate with our guests by:
  • Maintaining marketing WIP and events, social media and marketing calendar 
  • Liaise with head office to undertake hotel's marketing requirements 
  • Liaise, respond and direct queries including marketing, sponsorship and local membership queries 
  • Assist in sourcing suppliers for collateral items e.g. pull up banners, gifts, fast-turnaround print jobs 
  • Manage the Marketing and Communication Managers administration requirements 
  • Ordering new print items e.g. business cards, collateral, paper stock for menus, hotel-based event marketing requirements
  • Assist other departments with their marketing requirements 
  • Monthly expenses - check receipts, update concur, cross reference with bank statement 
  • Proof-read and check all briefs prior to the brief being submitted to Head Office
  • Proof-read and approve final creative prior to distribution
  • Monthly reporting including stats from digital, website, CRM, PR, social and general marketing activities 
  • Research and report on competitor and aspirational competitor activities
  • Research and report on food and beverage and spa promotions locally, including visiting outlets monthly to out look at internal marketing and promotions
  • Oversee the brand social media accounts and assist with property social media accounts, as required
Your many talents will include:
  • 2+ years experience within a similar position
  • A degree in Communications or similar field is preferred
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent levels of computer literacy
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Impeccable presentation and a polite, friendly and professional manner.
  • Strong initiative, with the ability to work alone and take a lead when hurdles arise or when tasks require completion
