Primary Purpose of Role
 
The Analyst Programmer utilises a combination of programming and analytical skills to formulate and define system scope and objectives and in turn design and develop software components for the Ultra Laboratory Information System (LIS).
 
The Analyst Programmer works closely with a Development Lead, Business Analysts and Test Engineers in developing the product direction. The Analyst Programmer will be expected to address problems reported by clients (internal or external) on defects identified within the software. The Analyst Programmer will be expected to work under time pressure and may also be part of the 24-hour rotation system at certain times with a Project / Deployment or Installation.
 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Software development and scripting using agile methodologies
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving, fault finding and debugging
  • Work with the development team to ensure delivery of high quality software within defined timelines and budget
  • Adhere to IT Frameworks (e.g. SDLC) and IT governance protocols in relation to coding changes, security requirements and deployments
  • Strong communication and decision making skills
  • Time management, prioritization and organizational skills
  • Development work comprising of Application Support, Enhancements and Project work
  • Undertake peer quality reviews of complex program code.
  • Maintains security of the LIS by ensuring coding practices comply with security protocols.
  • Has an advanced understanding of most General IT technologies such as Windows Operating systems, Workstation and Printer Hardware’s etc
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and organisation information
  • Adhere to all processes and procedures relating to the workplace health and safety of self and others
  • Build a strong team culture of agility and efficiency and respect for one another
