Multiple Fulltime opportunities exist for Pathologists looking for a rewarding and interesting career in Skin Pathology to join our growing team at IQ Pathology.

IQ Pathology (IQP) is a specialised Dermatopathology laboratory established in 2002 and is one of the largest specialised skin laboratories in Australia. A subsidiary of Healius, one of Australia's leading publicly listed healthcare companies comprised of four core business divisions of pathology, medical centres, diagnostic imaging and Health & Co, IQP is a part of the larger Pathology network of laboratories which include QML Pathology, Laverty Pathology, Dorevitch Pathology, Western Diagnostic Pathology and Kossard Dermatopathology. Reporting on a full range of skin pathology specimens including melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer, inflammatory dermatoses, hair pathology and nail pathology, our practice is strongly supported by the community of dermatologists, plastic surgeons and skin GPs, and we are actively involved in skin research, registrar training and GP education.

IQP is located in a new, state-of-the-art facility located centrally near the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, 1.5km from the CBD. This new laboratory is open plan, has abundant natural light, external views from all pathologist offices, and has dedicated teaching and training facilities. With capacity for up to 10 pathologists, this move supports our continued growth and expansion.
With multiple opportunities available and joining our existing team of four, nationally recognised Dermatopathologists, each with significant experience in Skin Pathology, and supported by an enthusiastic group of Scientists, Technicians and Administrative Assistants, these positions would be equally ideal for either a qualified or a more experienced Pathologist. Expressions of interest from registrars sitting their final examinations later in 2020 will also be considered.
To be successful in this role you will have a specialist Anatomical Pathology qualification or equivalent (FRCPA) and be eligible for Specialist Registration with AHPRA. You will also demonstrate:
  • A strong interest or demonstrated experience in skin pathology;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • A willingness to work as part of a team, with ideals and ethics in line with the organisation; and
  • A desire to learn and teach skin pathology and participate in the growth of the laboratory through networking and educational events.

As well as securing permanent full-time employment with a National Pathology Provider in a new, centrally located state-of-the-art laboratory, successful applicants will receive:

  • Competitive Salary and Leave package, including Conference Leave and expenses;
  • Support to attend national and international conferences;
  • Work with highly experienced and respected Dermatopathologists;
  • Teaching, research and marketing opportunities;
  • Opportunities for career advancement with access to investigative and clinical projects and a diverse, vast geographically spread network; and
  • A relocation package can be negotiated if required.

If this role appeals to you and aligns well with your qualities, skills and experience, applications meeting the above criteria can be forwarded to human.resources@qml.com.au.
