Qualified Teacher (BestStart Coast Boulevard)

BestStart Educare

Join us at our beautiful centre BestStart Coast Boulevard!

We are a sunny centre located 200m from Papamoa Beach. We recently celebrated our 2nd birthday and have a large wonderfully resourced environment.

We are looking for someone to join our Pohutukawa room which is working with our 2-3 year olds who share an outdoor environment with our independent 4 year olds. Our candidate must be able to work 40 hours per week, and be able to work the open and closing hours of the centre.

At Coast Boulevard, our vision is to nurture the wairua of all children and we do this through a holistic approach to our local curriculum. Some points of difference for us are that we offer swimming classes once a week (which teachers take turns attending), we do spontaneous yoga classes, and this year we want to really affirm ourselves within our local community. We are a friendly and bubbly team, looking for that right person to join our crew and help continue to make every day at the centre fun.

Below is our philosophy based upon Whare Tapa Wha, if you feel like our philosophy reflects some of your own values and beliefs then please send through an application.

Taha Tinana –Caring for our physical health Children are supported through spontaneous and planned active movement experiences which aid them to care for their physical health and the wellbeing of those around them, this extends to their peers and the environment. We believe in a sustainable approach to early childhood where children are one with nature.

Taha Wairua –Caring for our wellbeing Children are encouraged to embrace rangatiratanga (leadership) and take responsibility for themselves and those around them. At Coast we like to foster a loving environment built on respect where children are nurtured and have a strong sense of belonging.

Taha Whānau – Caring for our family and community Children are supported to form a strong relationship with the environment, their peers and teachers where community involvement and whānau inclusion is welcomed.

Taha Hinengaro – Caring for our mental health At Coast every child is affirmed as an individual and their identity is valued and appreciated.

Kaiako are passionate about creating a calm, peaceful and nurturing environment which therefore enables our tamariki to form a strong sense of resilience and confidence.
