About the role
  
The primary goal of the Head, Business Development (Medical Affairs) position is to is to source new business for CRC using both your strong medical affairs, commercial and management skills along with your ability to leverage existing networks and build new relationships with relevant decision-makers within the medical affairs industry.

About you

The successful candidate can readily assimilate both scientific and business information, exercise sound judgement, and capitalise on insights that lead to positive opportunities.

They will possess the ability to think innovatively to develop commercial models that differ from competitors. They have the ability to build a pipeline of opportunities through disciplined research and analysis as well as strong negotiation skills and confidence in liaising with “C-suite” medical and commercial client representatives.
  
Essential Experience
  • At least 5 years working in a medical affair's or CRO capacity within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
  • At least 5 years in a business development or business sales role in either industry
  • Proven track record interacting with key decision-makers, in particular senior executives such as CEO’s, CFOs, medical and commercial director
  • Experience using structured methodology towards business development and formulating commercial approaches or models to differentiate an organisation from its competition
  • Use of databases, CRMs and entering/reporting data
Technical Skills
  • Solid knowledge of Medical Affairs, Market Access and/or CRO activities and therapeutic product life cycle management
  • Knowledge of contract organisation business development processes
  
Preferred Experience
  • Solid pre-existing relationships or networks within industry
  • Medical/scientific related public relation

Qualifications 
  • Medical, pharmacy, nursing or other life science degree
  • Business or commerce degree
  • MBA or other post graduate business degree (preferred)
