About the Role
The primary purpose of the role is to work on capital market projects with internal and external clients. The Associate will work under the guidance and supervision of the Manager, Corporate Advisory to assist in the management of a challenging range of cross-border transactions including Equity Capital Markets Transactions (i.e. IPOs), Mergers & Acquisitions and to advise clients for capital raising via Crowd Sourced Funding (CSF).
This role requires a broad and fundamental commercial skill set and is suited to an ambitious team player who can apply a generalist and problem-solving skill set to an ambiguous, challenging and fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in deal discussion, review process and present findings of analysis
  • Monitor deal progress through to completion
  • Assist in managing the listing process of Crowd Sourced Funding on Capital Labs, tasks include preparation of pitch materials, documentation review, Due Diligence, etc.
  • Using various tools including Excel for building financial models to develop scenarios to examine capitalisation of potential and existing investments, analysing potential outcomes, and seeking optimal structures
  • Assist to prepare and deliver high quality documents across a wide and diverse range of activities including information memorandums, prospectuses and board papers
  • Assist with the due diligence process by carrying out various tasks as directed

About You

The ideal candidate will have solid financial analysis, valuation and modelling skills. You should have fundamental understanding of requirements for IPOs, cross listings and the merger and acquisition process.
You must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and be able to build rapport and trust across a wide variety of stakeholders and in particular, executive stakeholders.
Essential Experience:

  • A background in Investment Banking/Corporate Advisory/Venture Capital/Private Equity
  • 3+ years of proven track record of success working in a similar role
  • Good analytical and research skills, attention to detail and exposure in project management
  • Proven experience in dealing with and understanding the needs of stakeholders gained in a client servicing environment such as in investment banking or corporate advisory

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience or exposure of US Capital Markets


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Law (mandatory)
  • MBA (preferred)
  • Chartered Accountant (preferred)
  • Chartered Financial Analyst(preferred)
