WOW Recruitment are looking for an SEM Specialist to join a start-up software company based in an inner-city suburb in Sydney.

Our client is building community-powered solar solution through a two-sided solar marketplace, a customised software, a purpose-built CRM, and an app for both customers and installers.
Their solution has led them to becoming one of the largest residential solar battery companies in Australia and enables the transition to locally powered, affordable renewable energy for everyone.

Your SEM Specialist Role: 
  • Holistically responsible for all SEM in-house. You will look after the end to end strategy, implementation and optimisation (this is not a role with agency support)
  • Understand key objectives and success metrics - Take ownership of the campaigns, providing feedback, working with the team on strategic direction and recommendations to improve ROI
  • Effectively manage multiple budgets running across Display, Social, Video, Search and other campaigns
  • Perform marketing audit to identify critical areas of improvements across paid (SEM) channel performance 
  • Tracking analytics and making decisions accordingly 
  • Ongoing measurement, monitoring, and maximisation of paid search traffic will be vital.
  • Work collaboratively with business management to build brand awareness and loyalty
  • Collaborate with the marketing team, specifically a UI/UX designer and content creators
  • Work with the sales teams to drive the customer acquisition strategy.
  • Identify paid marketing channels and optimise or create accounts that will help meet growth targets


  • 2 years of experience in managing SEM successfully for B2C eCommerce websites
  • Proven experience in strategy development and growth initiatives across multiple platforms
  • Previous experience contributing to writing search ads
  • A data-driven approach to decision making and proven ability to track and report on the performance
  • A deep understanding and track record of improving ROI across SEM channel
Technical SEM Skills Required: 
  • Working knowledge of SEM platforms including, Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Facebook Business Manager, LinkedIn Ads
  • Understanding of Google analytics
  • Use Tag Manager to implement platform-specific tracking code
  • Ability to perform URL tracking optimisation, i.e. UTM codes for more transparent conversion metric reporting
  • Understanding of CRM data and interpreting reports
  • Bulk creation and editing of Google Ads through Google Ad Editor
