The Child Development Institute is located in Northmead, in Sydney’s Western Suburbs. They are looking to recruit an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic Diploma educator to join their team.

The role is Part Time –
8.30am - 12.30pm:  Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
8.30am – 4.30pm: Wednesday

The Child Development Institute (CDI) is an AUTISM SPECIFIC early intervention centre for children aged 18 months – 5 years. They deliver the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM), an evidence-based intervention specifically developed for children with autism aged between 1 – 5 years. It is recognised world wide, as the number one intervention for young children with autism.

They are committed to providing high quality intervention and care for all families and children within our centre.  

Our purpose built centre is designed and fully resourced with equipment to deliver effective early intervention to children within a group program, preparing them for inclusion in mainstream early childhood settings.
The group programs run from 9am - 12pm every morning and is run at a ratio of 2 children to each educator / therapist, with up to 14 children per day across 3 classrooms. These groups are run by a multi-disciplinary team of educators, speech pathologists and occupational therapists who have all been trained in the ESDM.

Essential Criteria
  1. Diploma of children services
  2. Current first aid certificate
  3. Current working with children check
  4. A minimum of 2 years experience working in early childhood service
  5. Well developed written and verbal communication skills
  6. Demonstrated experience working as part of a cooperative team
  7. Be willing to undergo in-house ESDM training to support children with Autism/Developmental Delay
  8. Demonstrated experience maintain safe and hygienic environments for children
  9. Experience or knowledge supporting children with additional needs
The Child Development Institute is committed to safeguarding children. Successful applicants will be required to undergo probity checks which include Reference Checks, a Working with Children Check and Criminal History Check prior to commencement. Employment is subject to clearance of all these checks.
