Pilbara Minerals are looking for Great People to join our team in powering a sustainable future. Located 120km south of Port Hedland in the Pilbara region, the Pilgangoora Lithium-Tantalum Project is one of the most exciting new projects in Western Australia.
  
THE OPPORTUNITY: 

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Senior Metallurgist will provide operational guidance and technical support to the operations team on metallurgical performance and improvement initiatives including;
  • monitoring process plant performance and liaising with areas of the site operation about technical consequences and forecasts;
  • initiating and implementing projects focusing on metallurgical performance and reliability contributing to the rolling quarterly plant production schedules to meet annual targets;
  • implementing improvement initiatives and driving metallurgical performance opportunity;
  • setting metallurgical, sampling and laboratory standards, as well as processing set points;
  • providing statistical data, i.e. trend analysis, daily analysis, periodical reports;
  • contributing to recommendations on strategic and continuous process improvement plans;
  • mentoring, coaching and training for plant metallurgists and metallurgical technicians; and
  • maintaining work groups focus on safety and environmental considerations.
This is a permanent full-time position which operates on a FIFO 8/6 roster from Perth or DIDO from Port Hedland.  
  
ABOUT YOU:
  • Degree qualified in Metallurgy or chemical engineering with significant demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Experience and qualification as radiation safety officer would be desirable
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of mineral processing with heavy media separation
  • You will have solid flotation and/or HMS experience i.e.: Nickel, Gold, Copper. Lithium experience advantageous
  • You will be an advocate for process improvement, accuracy and ensuring proper safety procedures

Successful candidates must be able to meet pre-employment checks, including a full site pre-employment medical, provide a current National Police Clearance and you will need to have a valid Drivers Licence.
