Pilbara Minerals’ Pilgangoora Lithium-Tantalum Project is located 120km south of Port Hedland in WA's Pilbara.  It is one of the largest new hard rock lithium (spodumene) deposits in the world.  With a life of mine of 23 years, great people, quality partners and high-quality products, we are excited about our future!

Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, the Mining Engineer is responsible for producing mine designs, mine schedules and production plans. This role is also responsible for reporting on production activities whilst ensuring compliance to environmental regulations and managing costs.
This position will operate on a FIFO 8/6 roster from Perth or DIDO from Port Hedland. 
Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Monitoring of daily activities and projects
  • Prepare open pit designs, including waste dumps, haul roads and RoM stockpiles
  • Generate the daily load and haul, drill and blast planning, weekly and monthly mining schedule, monthly production reconciliation, and produce periodic mine production reports
  • Review and manage conformance to plan
  • Producing and reviewing D&B designs and tie-ins
  • Data entry, validation, analysis and assist with cost management related tasks
  • Contributing to activities that ensure compliance with environmental management
  • Hold a degree in Mining Engineering
  • Experience in hard rock mining of pegmatite deposits
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role within a Mining Engineering team
  • Solid experience in mine planning and scheduling
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite particularly Excel as well as Surpac and Alastri mining software
  • Current WA C class driver’s licence
  • Willingness to obtain WA unrestricted Quarry Manager’s certificate
