Daiken New Zealand is the sole manufacturer of Customwood MDF – the world’s premium Medium Density Fibreboard – which is exported internationally to a wide range of clients. They run a large and unique 24x7 manufacturing plant and the minimisation of hazards and risks in the facility is at the forefront of their values and work ethic.  
As the Health and Safety Advisor, you’ll confidently take a hands-on approach to ensure practices are of a high standard in this ISO45001 accredited site.  You’ll work closely with the team, conducting investigations, troubleshooting, and promoting a culture that is on par with the strong H&S beliefs of Daiken. You will liaise regularly with the Chamber of Commerce, Workplace NZ and other industry bodies, and will be encouraged to share changes or recommendations you think would benefit the health, safety & wellness of the company and staff.
The key requirements of this role will relate to the development, implementation and monitoring of health and safety initiatives and procedures to ensure the provision of optimal conditions to ensure that the exemplary safety record achieved by Daiken continues into the future.  Along with the various H&S duties you will also coordinate, monitor, develop and maintain training programs, licensing and safety training & development plans.  You will also provide proactive support, inductions, coaching and training to staff and managers in meeting H&S requirements. 
You will have completed training with qualifications to at least stage three of Health and Safety Representative Training and preferably you will have attained a Diploma or higher qualification and come armed with the practical experience to maintain the ISO45001 auditing and compliance requirements and utilise your working knowledge of the HSE Act to the betterment of the organisation and people.  Ideally you will also bring experience with Vault or a similar Risk & EHS software package.
