The Opportunity:
This rare opportunity has now become available within New Zealand’s largest manufacturer in the plastics industry and part of a wider global group. Reporting through to the Country Manager/MD and functionally to the GM of Supply Chain (APAC), this new position will be responsible for aligning and leading the national logistics strategy across the business, driving beyond current boundaries and facilitating a mantra of continuous improvement across the logistics function.
  
The role:
We are seeking interest from candidates with strong experience in establishing and implementing logistics best practice business processes. A solid skill set in challenging the norms, project management and the ability to work both tactically and strategically in a complex environment where business analytics require further development, would be highly regarded.
  
Key responsibilities of this position are as follows:
  • Lead and promote operational improvement activities
  • Provide logistics subject matter expertise to business functions
  • Ownership of logistics function financial performance
  • Management of all contractors delivering logistics services to the business
  • Leadership coaching & mentoring of logistics team members
  • Compliance of logistics function
  • Implementation of best practice systems
  • Fully comply with H & S requirements
The person required:
To be considered for this position, you will have a relevant Degree and suitable previous experience in a similar level role. With no direct reports, your instinctive leadership and communication style will be collaborative, influencing and resilient. You will have exceptional stakeholder management and the abilities to work at a strategic level while enjoying the opportunity to be hands on and attending to details. As the support and adviser to the NZ Leadership Team and working jointly with the Regional Function (APAC) you will be confident and curious of what is possible over and above the norm.
