The opportunity
Our client is a leading privately owned manufacturer in pharmaceuticals, natural health and dairy products. They are looking for a Quality Manager for their dairy plant producing nutritional milk powder, organic milk and infant formula of the highest quality.
You will be seen as the leader and subject matter expert in the area of quality assurance within the business and will be working closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide support in the implementation, maintenance and improvement of quality systems. The role
This is an autonomous role, reporting through to the General Manager. You will engage, motivate and work closely with your team of 8, as well as all parts of the business ensuring that products, processes and best practice Quality Management systems are identified, developed, implemented and documented. You will be responsible for ensuring high levels of quality compliance and continuous quality improvements are achieved.
Experience and attributes
To be successful, you will need:
  • Previous experience in a dairy manufacturing or pharmaceutical/ nutritional environment.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of HACCP, GMP, RMP, NCR investigation and resolution, plus auditing – ideally within a dairy processing environment.
  • Proven ability to lead, manage and build a cohesive team.
  • Initiative, ability to deal with ambiguity and decisive decision making – able to make judgment calls within a fast-paced and dynamic production environment. You act with urgency while maintaining a positive, “can-do” attitude.
  • Tertiary Qualification: Ideally in food technology, food science or microbiology.
