The company

Our client is a leading producer of market pulp, paper and fibre-based packaging.  This role is based at their impressive large Industrial plant in Kawerau in the sunny Bay of Plenty region.

The roles

We are looking for an Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer who will report to the Area Maintenance Manager.  You will have responsibility for maintaining a safe working environment and creating maintenance standards and improvement initiatives.  

Key responsibilities include: 
  • Provide high level technical, maintenance and operational expertise whilst scoping contractor maintenance work 
  • Demonstrate a high level of safety ethics
  • Deliver the maintenance strategy in accordance with the asset strategy whilst holding Contractors accountable for effective delivery
  • Provide instruction to contractor trades 
  • Develop a long term asset strategy to ensure plant optimisation
  • Increase reliability through improved maintenance practices
  • Solve maintenance problems in an effective and efficient manner 
The person

You will need to be a tertiary qualified Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer with proven experience in a large industrial plant.  Ideally, you will have 3-5 years' experience in site maintenance E&I engineering, in either a high voltage plant or in a complex, heavy manufacturing operation.  You will have excellent communication and problem solving skills and be an effective team player.
