We are seeking a skilled and qualified professional to join our Disability Services team. Our service is focused on delivering small group program support to our clients to assist them towards achieving their goals and aspirations.
The role of a Disability Support Worker – Key Worker is hands on and includes the provision of practical support to people with a disability to enhance their skills and competencies. Duties include support during day program activities such as further education and recreational activities. This fixed term position involves working with a small group, driving a bus and assisting clients with personal care. 
To be successful within this position you will have:
  • Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience in Futures for Young Adults Programs.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for networking with clients, families and the community sector.
  • An understanding or desire to learn the principles of person-centered planning and experience in transforming plans into actions.
  • Understanding of Disability Act 2006, including Department of Health and Human Services Standards and Quality Framework for Disability Services.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • First Aid level 2.
  • Driver license and ability to drive a bus.
