Vets4Pets is looking for a experienced veterinary nurse to join our amazing team as a head nurse.

We have an exciting position available for a full-time consulting vet at our Vets4Pets clinic in Adelaide. Our practices continue to expand the range of care we provide for our patients and improve delivery of established services, including complex orthopaedics.

Our large team of over twenty vets over seven sites (including three more VSBSA accredited hospitals) provides a vibrant supportive professional community within which to work and learn. Professional interests within the practices include canine and feline internal medicine, exotic and pocket pet medicine and surgery, oncology, diagnostic imaging, neurology, orthopaedic surgery, dentistry (including endodontics), acupuncture and behaviour therapy.


Our Mawson Lakes hospital is looking for a head Nurse on a 32 hours basis to lead our nursing team.

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Support the Practice Manager in ensuring the smooth day to day running of the practice.
  • Assist with the co-ordination of practice administrative tasks (including rosters, facilities management, ordering).
  • Maintain a consistently high level of organisation and cleanliness in the hospital and kennel areas at all times.
  • Assist with the implementation and co-ordination of staff induction programs.
  • Assist in the planning and conducting team meetings.
  • Continue the provision of a high level support to veterinarians in all aspects of veterinary nursing, including anaesthetic monitoring, animal handling, IV catheter placement and blood collection.
 
The candidate will possess the following attributes:  
  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent experience) and min 2 years’ clinical experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership, motivational and team coordination skills.
  • Ability to work well and multitask under pressure in a high-volume, busy hospital environment.
  • A keen desire to deliver excellent standards of patient care and customer service at all times.
  • Excellent general computer literacy.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Flexible and reliable.
