Pet Emergency & Specialist Centre aim to provide all pet owners with compassion and a high standard of veterinary care to improve patient outcomes and help pets live longer and healthier lives. Our three most important goals are:  being committed to offering Melbourne’s pet owners a comprehensive pet care team and 24 hour critical care, and providing excellence in communication with you the customer and your family vet, and developing new treatments by actively leading the profession in continuing education of all our nursing and veterinary staff.
  
Our state-of-the-art intensive care unit includes, spacious cages and dog runs, intravenous fluid pumps, syringe pumps, an advanced humidicrib, surgivet multiparameter monitoring, state of the art portable ultrasound, CT imaging, DR digital radiography and fluoroscopy, mechanical ventilators (life-support), capability for blood and plasma transfusion. Emergency surgery facilities, with specialist surgeons who work on shift each weekend for more complicated surgical cases, urgent medications, and oxygen therapy. We also have a full in-house laboratory.

The Opportunity

The opportunity will provide the successful applicants with the chance to improve their clinical experience, learn new veterinary skills, work alongside a friendly team of vets in a caring and supportive environment. We are seeking veterinarians who are client-focused, practice evidence-based medicine at a high level and enjoy working in a growing team environment. Work side by side with emergency vets in the ECC with no sole charge or overnight.

What we are looking for

Minimum requirements are one year of experience in a small animal veterinarian hospital. The position will be ideally suited to a vet with a background in Emergency that wishes to grow their skill set in a supported environment. A Veterinarian with experience in busy General Practices will also be considered.
