  • MS Desktop upgrade project
  • Great delivery skills - do what is needed
You are an experienced project manager who has delivered Microsoft desktop upgrades before, so you know the traps! You are focused on delivery and don't mind getting down and doing what needs to be done to make it happen and stay on track. Good at building relationships you can explain what needs to be done to non-technical stakeholders and gain their buy-in.
This contract is all about delivering a Microsoft Desktop upgrade to Office 2016 in a worldwide enterprise environment. The project will be managed from Wellington and so you will need to set it all up and then test to make sure the plans for the roll-out are going to work in  all locations.
Ideally you have completed similar upgrades elsewhere or can demonstrate you have the ability to deliver this - perhaps you have grown up through the desktop stack? The requirements for the role include:
  • Gather the requirements across the organisation which may mean teasing out the details for some of the non-IT groups
  • You are someone who has a history of taking responsibility and driving to make things happen, and willingly do whatever you need to do.
  • During the investigation phase you can tease out where existing Apps depend on the current desktop version and identify dependencies.
  • Developing a practical project plan from these investigations is part of the role
  • You can handle ambiguity and take a pragmatic approach to getting the job done
  • To ensure the final product is solid and can be implemented, you will develop a Proof of Concept plus organise thorough testing before the roll-out commences
  • Understanding IT security at a high level is also essential so you can fully understand the constraints of the organisation.
This is a good team and a great opportunity to take responsibility for an important project in this organisation.
Please note: you MUST be a New Zealand citizen and able to pass a security clearance to take up this role.
