The Chef is to responsible for providing an efficient and professional food service to the Casey Football Club.

The Melbourne Football Club is the founding club of the AFL. Based at Australia's most iconic sports stadium, the Melbourne Cricket Ground, it is part of the fabric of the city of Melbourne and has over 50,000 members. 

The Club has strong leadership and is approaching an exciting phase of growth as we look to take the next step both on and off the field in 2020. After entering a 30-year partnership in 2009, Melbourne’s alignment to the City of Casey region continues to go from strength-to-strength.

Position Summary/Objective

The Chef is to responsible for providing an efficient and professional food service to the Casey Football Club. The Chef must ensure that safe and appropriate practices are followed in relation to hygiene and health legislation/regulations along with presenting food to a high standard that meets members and guests dining requirements.

Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Providing food service during the following events:
    • o Player Meals – Tuesday nights throughout the season
    • o Private Functions
  • Plan, direct and participate in the food preparation and cooking activities
  • Ordering stock, order checking and storing supplies in the correct conditions
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment
  • Ensure all kitchen staff are briefed on appropriate procedures and guidelines
  • Efficiently manage stock rotation to ensure minimal wastage
  • General cleaning duties to ensure the kitchen is in line with the health and hygiene legislation/regulations
  • Preparation of food in line with the health and hygiene legislation/regulations
  • Assist in the planning and development of recipes and menus for events and functions Provide exceptional customer service
  • Delegate tasks to others as required
  
Competencies, Qualifications, Experience and Key Attributes
  • Proven experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service to internal / external stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to achieving results.
  • Good problem-solving skills, including the ability to ‘think on your feet’.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment.
  • Passion for continuous improvement
  • Friendly, energetic and positive personality
  • Completed the following certificates:
    • o Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
    • o Food Safety
    • o Food Handling

  • Position offered will be subject to a Working with Children's Check
  • Be available events outside of normal business hours
