12 Month Contract – Starting January 2021
  
The Role
  • Participate in the admission, investigation, treatment and disposition of all patients admitted to the inpatient unit in consultation with admitting VMO.
  • Participate in patient treatment programs, multidisciplinary patient review meetings and family conferences where required.
  • Ensure that the clinical requirements for individual patient management plans are implemented.
  • Timely review of patient investigation reports, and the actions following those investigations.
  • Ensure that the standards of documentation required for clinical care are maintained and specifically that all instances that incidents, accidents, injuries, assaults, complaints, medication and treatment errors are reported and documented in accordance with policy and procedures.
  • Participate in regular liaison with referring agencies especially a patient’s General Practitioner to promote and maximise the involvement of these agencies in the patient’s post discharge care. 
The Hospital
  
The Hospital provides emergency, obstetric, surgical, acute inpatient and community-based services to the local district and its community. The inpatient unit consists of 20 beds and is supplemented by a four-bed close observation unit. Several visiting specialists provide consulting services to the hospital. The hospital is situated close to the NSW border with the ACT. The Hospital provides an ideal environment to gain experience across a range of clinical disciplines in keeping with a generalist career ambition.
  
Essential Criteria
  
MBBS or equivalent, current general registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  
Must have at least 3 years post-graduate work experience, preferably with at least one year of acute adult inpatient management experience.
