Utilising this network and reputation, AHP are seeking a Nurse Manager to head up and roll out nursing support services across residential aged care Australia wide.

Based in Sydney or The Gold Coast, this is a national role, will see you as part of the groups leadership team and reporting directly to the CEO.
The key purpose of the Nurse Manager is to provide expert clinical counsel to registered nurses, carers, and other health care professionals within a large Aged Care Provider. The Nurse Manager develops and delivers education, facilitates implementation, evaluates care and clinical protocols and overseer’s the roll out of support staff and services to our clients.

Your obligation will be to improve results to our trusted clients and their residents through raising the bar in the supply of clinical and care staff to Aged Care facilities Australia wide.
You will continually review and advise around complex care needs as they evolve. Your output will be evidence based and in line with the new aged care standards, and within Australian Health Professionals policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Systematic review of our clinical pathways, procedures, assessment tools and policies against best practice guidelines.
  • Draft recommended practice changes (including the adding, deleting and editing of documentation etc).
  • Provide content and develop care and clinical protocols
  • Provide content and develop resources to up-skill clinical and care staff on updated practice
  • Business development
  • Tender response and submission
  • Lead a team of administrative support staff
  • Assist in providing content for marketing material
  • Attend and deliver presentations at industry conferences such as LASA
  • Study and attend training to stay on top of industry trends
  • Be the example and familiar face to hundreds of clinical and care staff
Essential Criteria:
  • (5) years' experience in a clinical governance or clinical nursing operations at a national, senior or executive level
  • Extensive Aged Care Industry Experience
  • Outstanding relationship management skills
  • Consultative approach to engaging internal resources
  • Solid negotiation skills and ability to develop robust working relationships
  • Ability to identify and prioritise complex problems and issues, generate solutions and work collaboratively to achieve a successful outcome
  • Demonstrated Business acumen and commercial skills
  • Effectively manage multiple and conflicting priorities
  • Read audit reports and provide recommendations to develop implementation strategies and action plans by analysing data, categorising risk
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement sustainable corrective actions
  • High-level computer skills
  • Clear understanding of clinical governance frameworks and Single Quality Framework accreditation standards
  • Sound experience in building relationships and communicating with stakeholders at all levels from frontline to senior leaders
  • Ability to connect preferred strategic outcomes between organisations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills,
Qualifications and Registrations:
  • APHRA registration 
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in a Business, Management or Commerce discipline
  • Current unrestricted drivers’ licence
