The Roles Key Duties
  
This role is available from August 2020 to end of January 2021 with opportunities available for 2021 clinical year.
  
Provide competent and efficient clinical management of patients of the Health Directorate under the supervision and direction of Consultant Physicians. Clinical duties will include assessment and management of acute presentations, inpatient care, diagnosis and management of patients in outpatient clinics, consultations, and attending and actively participating in clinical handover.
  
Communicating effectively with senior medical staff, nursing and other staff in relation to diagnostic requests, management plans and consultations and follow-up to ensure that appropriate action is taken. Documenting conversations with treating consults regarding patient management.
  
The Hospital
  
The Hospital is based in Sydney and is a principal tertiary referral centre. The hospital is a major public teaching hospital in central Sydney. It serves as a teaching hospital and has approximately 750 beds.
  
Essential Criteria
  • An Australian MBBS medical degree, or equivalent.
  • Be registered (or eligible for registration) as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Postgraduate year three, or above, and previous experience or training in a hospital-based internal medicine training program.
