With long standing accreditations for OHS, Environment and Quality and a focus on ensuring the optimal health of all of our employees, we are looking for an experienced HSE Specialist to join the People, Safety and Culture team.

You will enjoy building strong stakeholder relationships using your effective communication skills and are passionate about all aspects of HSE. This is a diverse role with a variety of responsibilities, including the review and continued development of an Integrated Business Management System.

The Role:
  • Investigate and report on incidents and near misses, identifying corrective actions for improvement of safety outcomes;
  • Identify risks and implement risk mitigation strategies, liaising with operations teams;
  • Manage injury management, WorkCover, workers compensation claims and work and non-work related return to work programs;
  • Maintaining HSE metrics and data, reporting on outcomes of trend analysis and hazard and incident management;
  • Manage inductions for plant, equipment, chemical and sites are completed and recorded accurately;
  • Coordinate internal and external safety audits; including preparation for and participation in annual certification audits;
  • Promote a safe working culture across the business through HSE training, development and education activities and programs, including monthly toolboxes and safety alerts; and
  • Work closely with our People and Culture Manager on broader PSC projects and activities.
Your Experience: 
  • Ideally, you will have a proven track record in Health, Safety and Environmental management preferably from the Construction, Grounds Maintenance, Facility Management or other related industries; 
  • Management of an integrated management system is essential;
  • Strong experience in leading and implementing HSE initiatives and working collaboratively with all stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes;
  • A minimum of a Certificate IV in OH&S is required;
  • A strong understanding of HSE legislative requirements and standards; and
  • Return to Work Coordinator training and experience.
The successful candidate will be based between our two offices, in Mulgrave and Essendon Fields, with travel, of course, to our customer sites to provide support to our workforce as required.
