Client
We have been approached by a leading welfare organisation that support vulnerable children, young people and families across Australia to assist in the recruitment of a Family Therapist for their innovative Functional Family Therapy Program that covers the Newcastle and Hunter region. The FFT program provides a family therapy focused model for high risk families.  Based on an evidence base model, they work with families with children and young people (0-17) at risk of significant harm due to physical abuse or neglect and at imminent risk of being placed in out of home care. The role is a permanent full time position and based in Edgeworth.

Role
As the successful candidate, your role will be to work with a caseload of up to 8 families, providing therapeutic interventions consistent with the model. You will help families overcome their barriers to engagement with services and motivate families to create a context for change, addressing risk factors and strengthen protective factors for families.

Criteria
As the successful candidate, you will have:
  • Minimum degree level qualification in Psychology or Counselling, a Masters of Social Work with extensive therapeutic training would also be considered
  • Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable children and families
  • Driver license and own vehicle (reimbursements will be made for travel)
Further Info
In return, you will be offered a base salary of $79-82k + Super + the benefits of salary packaging.

The role is a permanent, full time position. Working days are Monday to Friday with flexible working hours to suit you and the families that you work with, between 8am-8pm.
