9 month Finance Manager position

GALE Pacific is an Australian publicly listed company (ASX: GAP) with over 600 employees globally. We have operations in the USA, China, the Middle East and in Europe. Due to an internal promotion an opportunity has arisen at our global head office in Braeside for a dynamic Finance Manager to join an established and high performing team for a 9 month fixed term contract.

Reporting to the Financial Controller and managing a team of 4 (Financial Accountant, Accounts Payable Officer, Payroll Administrator and Senior Credit Controller) your responsibilities will include:
  • Timeliness and integrity of financial accounting data for day to day use by Management
  • Ensure internal controls are safely maintained and enforced
  • Preparation and submission of the monthly management accounts (P&L and Balance Sheet) for the Australian and New Zealand business units, in accordance with applicable Accounting standards and/or company policies
  • Provide timely and accurate management reporting for the Operations, including monthly actual and projected performance for key KPI’s
  • Preparation, monitoring, accuracy, internal controls and reporting of inventory
  • Preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts
  • Ensure internal controls are safely maintained and enforced
  • Be a proactive business partner, providing sound advice, analysis and decision support to management
  • Drive continuous improvement activities within the Financial & Management Accounting environment and broader business
  • Foster a positive, customer focused, easy to do business with culture
  
Experience, Skills and Knowledge:
  • CA/CPA qualified with an Accounting Degree
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong Financial Accounting background with Microsoft AX experience preferred
  • Preparing and presenting high quality financial statements and analysis for management review and sign off
  • Inventory accounting, including controls, valuation and clearance of excess & obsolete inventory
  • Positive can-do attitude and appoach to work
  • Strong analytical, problem solving & reconciliation skills
  • Ability to identify inefficient processes and drive productivity/process improvements
  • Strong leadership of people and for delivering outcomes
