This is a key role within a successful business environment that is expanding their operation. You will be accountable for establishing the hub in Palmerston North and eventually overseeing a team of 3 salespeople with support from Head Office. This is not a corporate business and is locally owned – specialising in the extremely buoyant construction sector.
The position will require exceptional drive, energy and well-honed organisational skills; you will co-ordinate the sales process and keep momentum going on projects as well as report on sales pipeline progress for your team.
Working closely with the business owner, you will oversee sales and project management while driving the growth of the company within the wider Manawatu and surrounding regions. 
The ideal candidate will have some experience dealing with the council / building consent process – also considered favourably but is not essential will be building sector experience. This role requires someone able to take hands-on action, combined with the ability to plan effectively and drive strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Setting up and day-to-day running of the Palmerston North branch
  • Increasing product awareness by promoting the brand
  • Driving sales in conjunction with an established support network
  • Achieving overall growth and performance of the business in line with the owner’s expected deliverables
The successful applicant will be:
  • Experienced in operating within a CRM or database environment
  • Experienced in managing a minimum of 2 staff
  • Innovative, strategic and forward-thinking
  • Client focussed with a driven and positive attitude
  • Able to apply the sales process at every touchpoint in the business
