An industry-disruptor has set up HQ in sunny Brisbane and they are looking for a Cloud Automation Engineer to join the team.

This role is a permanent, full time role located at their Brisbane office.
Our client has ticked a lot of things off already – having already secured investment, set up their HQ in Brisbane and built a series of prototypes for POC but now, they are ready to assemble their Thunderbirds team.

As their Cloud Automation Engineer and original member of the tech team you will build the product (alongside a highly trained CTO and team of experts).
You will also liaise with people across the organisation to achieve the mutual goal so cross-functional experience is a definite plus.

The Role:
  • Lead the design, build, and optimisation of fully automated CI/CD pipelines
  • Introduce microservices and serverless approaches
  • Be the active driver for Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery applications within the technical team
  • Maintain adherence to architectural standards/principles and industry best practice
  • Alongside the CTO, provide input into development of standards as well as efficiencies
  • Execution of process engineering and operational improvement initiatives for automation tooling focussed on cloud
  • Resolve and act as escalation and coordination point for incidents and problems related to affected automation
  • Gather requirements for design, development and deployment
  • Build and deploy secure, robust server application
  • Liaise with AWS directly as required
  • Review the work of other developers
  • Work autonomously as part of small, focussed teams
Experience:

Experience working in startups or building a platform from concept-to-completion will be looked upon favourably.
  • Degree in IT, Software Engineering, Computing Science or related
  • Proven experience in Cloud Automation Engineer roles, projects or similar
  • Commercial experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) – with certificates
  • Experience designing microservices deployed to the cloud
  • Experience with serverless and serverless architectures
  • Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes
  • Understanding of security in a continuous integration/deployment environment, including post release security best practices
  • Strong understanding of the AWS cost model and management
Salary:
$90k – $120k + super (commensurate of experience)
