We are currently searching for a Full Stack Developer / Tech Lead ready to pull up their sleeves and hit the ground running within our client’s In-Call Experience team.

In this role, you’ll be leading an In-Call Experience engineering team responsible for our client’s core product, ensuring users continue to experience high quality, reliable service. This is a critical component of their customer offering.

The Role:
  • Drive forward the development of our client’s WebRTC stack with a general goal of improving call-quality and user experience
  • Manage the front-end WebRTC user interface, as well as connections to backend systems such as our client’s proprietary signalling server, open-source TURN servers, open-source SIP gateways to connect with traditional SIP endpoints and the telephone network, and a proprietary backend recording system using open-source software where possible
  • Lead and mentor a team of software engineers in an innovative and challenging problem space
  • Work with product owners to develop a future vision for the product
  • Work on two-weekly sprints within your squat in collaboration with your team of software engineers, a product owner and support from UX and QA
  • Identify, plan, design and implement high-quality technical solutions and improvements across both supporting front and back-end systems
  • Ensure code quality and health by performing code reviews, and helping to refine, develop and implement styles and standards.
Experience:
  • Qualifications in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years Full Stack Engineering experience
  • Strong experience with, and knowledge of both client and server-side Javascript
  • An understanding of network protocols, preferably video communication protocols
  • Experience with React, Mercury.js or similar framework
  • Be focused on producing high quality testable and maintainable code
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent technical and non-technical problem-solving skills
  • Experience using Docker for local development
  • Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD and package management systems
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Good communication skills, and ability to collaborate in an open and positive fashion

  • Knowledge or practical experience working with WebRTC
  • Experience using static type systems such as Typescript or Flow
  • Experience with server-based video and audio conferencing technologies, such as Asterisk, Freeswitch or Janus
  • Experience deploying technologies into AWS
Salary:
$140k + $160k – including super (commensurate of experience)
