AWS/Google Cloud in a mixed Windows/Linux environment - manage, deploy and upgrade.

This is a brand new role for a global provider of software solutions for the Health industry.  You will be working in the Brisbane office, as a primary Cloud Administrator and Engineer, managing both client and internal . You will be responsible for monitoring, deploying, maintaining, administering and upgrading Cloud hosted applications and the Windows and Linux operating systems they run on.

The Cloud environment is based on AWS, Google Cloud in Windows and Linux.  They also use Citrix Virtual Apps, so we will primarily be seeking candidates who have exposure to AWS and these other environments.  There is also some requirement for periodic weekend or out of hours work, particularly for projects.  

Your responsibilities will include:
  • User administration and security
  • Routine maintenance
  • Scheduled backups and restorations
  • Monitoring of production, and non-production client environments
  • Liaising with an external vendor for support issues
  • Serve as Tier 2 support on select issues raised by clients using hosted environments.
  • Follow and apply security and performance standards 
  • Leverage automation to monitor and orchestrate client environments
What we are looking for:
  • Experience with administering AWS Cloud environments
  • Experience with AWS products including VPCs, EC2, EBS, RDS, AIM, Systems Manager, Managed Directory, CloudWatch, CloudTrail and CloudFormation
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform preferred (not essential)
  • Experience in supporting and maintaining Windows and Linux OS
  • Thorough understanding of cloud computing virtualisation technologies (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS)
  • Proven experience in the support and administration of complex IT projects
  • Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (desirable)
  • Ability to work as an individual as well as part of a global team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
