We are looking for an experienced, agile and highly skilled Programme Manager. You’ll have a well-rounded track record of implementing overarching project frameworks, working with a wide variety of stakeholders.  

In this newly created role, you’ll hit the ground running as a dynamic, adaptable and well-organised professional who has a clear and concise communication style. You will be known for your ability to take people on the journey and deliver impactful outcomes.  
About the role: 
Reporting into the CEO, this role based at National Office in Wellington CBD, will have high level engagement with the Cancer Society National Board, National Executive Committee, National Office staff and Divisional Managers.  
Key accountabilities include:  
  • Designing the programme management roadmap and framework, including governance structure, core processes and supporting tools and documentation  
  • Ensuring alignment of activities and efficacy in prioritisation  
  • Risk management  
  • Budget management including cost and expenditure monitoring and reporting
  • Recommendations on resource allocation to ensure achievement of deliverables  
  • Providing active support and facilitation to specific projects when needed  
  • Assisting with the transition of the Programme to business as usual    
About you: 
Along with your knowledge and experience in programme management methodologies, you will ideally:  
  • Be an experienced facilitator with the ability to engage with and influence a wide variety of stakeholders 
  • Be outcome focused, positive yet resilient 
  • Take pride in playing your part in Cancer Society’s continuous journey to improve health and well-being outcomes for New Zealanders 
  • Have an understanding of te Tiriti o Waitangi and te Ao Mãori and have experience considering Mãori health and equity in projects
