An experienced Stock Person position is now available on a family owned and managed cattle stud based near Guluguba, QLD.

Our client is a family owned and managed highly regarded Charolais Cattle Stud based near Guluguba, Queensland. A position has become available for an experienced Stock Person to assist the owner across all operations of this 650  breeder stud. This hands on role is a terrific opportunity for an honest, reliable and energetic person who has an incredible ease around cattle and is wishing to be involved in a world recognised cattle breeding operation. The ideal candidate will be passionate about cattle and have extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of cattle husbandry and welfare, with the ability to work under instruction. 

The day to day role will include, but not limited to:

-   Assist owner with all aspects of daily running of cattle stud
-   Maintaining very high standard of animal welfare
-   Maintenance, service and repair of fencing, water infrastructure, farm plant and equipment
-   Assist with continued development and improvement of property infrastructure  
-   Operation of feed mixer together with feeding cattle
-   All aspects of hay production including operating hay cutter and rake
-   Operation of general farm machinery including front end loader and bull dozer
-   Muster cattle on two wheeled motor bikes
-   Assisting with on farm bulls sales
-   Strong commitment to Workplace, Health and Safety

Position Requirements:

-  Demonstrated current experience in all aspects of cattle husbandry and welfare
-  Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively
-  Experience with general maintenance of cattle property 
-  Ability to operate machinery for hay production
-  Highly organised with strong attention to detail
-  Strong mechanical and welding ability
-  Truck licence preferred
-  Ability to work with owner and/or autonomously 
-  Experience with AI would be favourable 
-  Ability to maintain the best conditions for breeding and raising quality cattle 
-  Proven longevity of employment
-  Adherence to workplace health and safety guidelines
-  Passion for beef industry and take pride in your work
