More than 20 years ago, this Kiwi founded medical organisation pioneered a life-changing new skin surveillance system. They recognised that the world didn’t have the technology or training to detect skin concerns, particularly at the early stage. Not only that, the inaccuracy of visual checks meant that many moles were being removed unnecessarily, creating needless scars and causing a poor patient experience.

The founders figured there must be a better way to diagnose earlier and more accurately. So they created a unique skin-mapping system that’s designed to track changes in the skin over time.
Now they have over 50 clinics throughout NZ, Australia and the US. And these days, experts around the world use the accuracy of their system and data to further advance skin research, educate other specialists and, ultimately, to protect lives.
About the role:
Reporting to the COO and Commercial Excellence Manager, you will provide commercial expertise in all strategic, business development, procurement and operational activities to ensure the commercial interests of the organisation are optimised whilst ensuring franchisee/Licensee obligations and associated commercial risks are managed adequately.

The role requires someone who has a solid commercial, Health, Franchisee or retail background and a solid understanding of the finance make up of an organisation.
A large aspect to the role will be to develop the licensee/franchise members and manage staffing. 
This role requires someone with the right skillset and agility to manage a dynamic role.

General duties and tasks of the National Commercial Manager:
  • Commercial management of clinics and licensee's, ensuring compliance with operating policies and clinical compliance.
  • Support the development and implementation of the growth strategy.
  • Provide commercial expertise and support to the management team in a diligent, effective and confident manner.
  • Ensure all clinic standards are met to ensure the commercial interests of the company are optimised.
  • Work along side the Clinical Excellence Manager to ensure legal requirements are met and inline with Ministry of Health guidelines.
  • Identify, manage and advise on commercial and corporate governance matters in a manner that optimises value to the company whilst protecting its assets and corporate reputation.
  • Provide oversight, guidance and leadership in commercial and staffing matters.
  • Be dynamic and adaptable to change.
  • Guide continuous improvement in the optimisation of the commercial framework to ensure its integrity and relevance to the business.
  • Collaborate with the broader commercial team.
About you:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who has the following attributes:
  • Commercial management experience in a Health, Service, Retail or support services organisation.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate, engage, negotiate and influence effectively at all levels.
  • Experience with all commercial requirements relating to Franchise or Licensee business models.
  • In-depth understanding of finance implications on an organisation.
  • Excellent planning and project management skills.
  • Superior commercial acumen and the ability to negotiate successful outcomes.
  • Happy to work around the country and travel nation wide.
