About the Role
*Role base in Canberra*
Due to ongoing growth & an ever-expanding pipeline of work, GEOCON is seeking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to assist in the delivery of upcoming projects. 

Working as part of the Estimation team, the Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for all aspects of cost planning including take-offs, analytics and trade measures.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Assist with/prepare feasibility studies and trade cost plans.
  • Assist the construction team with estimating queries across multiple trade disciplines.
  • Assist project team with tender analysis
  • Assist with the management of external cost planners to prepare feasibility studies and trade cost plans. Analyse and review external cost plans for soundness
  • Conduct check measures against external measures as required.
  • Review and manage assumptions, exclusions and inclusions of internal and external cost plans
  • Assess tenders for competitiveness.
  • Liaise with suppliers and contractors to obtain quotes and competitive pricing.
  • Investigate new construction products, materials and methods
  • Conduct reviews & assessment of subcontractor variations
  • Perform project cost analysis and report on outcomes.
Skills Required
The successful candidate will have:
  • A tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or similar
  • Previous experience with Costx will be highly advantageous
  • Significant demonstrated experience in cost-planning for Residential and Commercial projects
  • Understanding of building services, general design and authority requirements
  • Immediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Follow & adhere to company process and procedures
