Project Engineer required to establish and maintain procedures for cost control, procurement, design resolution and co-ordination of trades.

About the Role
Due to ongoing growth & an ever-expanding pipeline of work, GEOCON is looking to appoint a Project Engineer for an upcoming high-rise multi-unit project.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Engineer will be responsible for managing various stages and to establish and maintain procedures for cost control, procurement, design resolution and co-ordination of trades.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Working with the Project Manager you will be responsible for managing your own trade packages
  • Attending regular site meetings with Designers/consultants and subcontractors
  • Complete tenders from design resolution right through to award and implementation of the selected subcontractor on site
  • Understand the site rules and emergency procedures
  • Monitor, review & report periodically on the progressive performance of subcontractors against the scope, program and budget
  • Support the Project Manager and other employees on the project in undertaking their responsibilities
  • Highlighting any issues that would have significant implication on time, cost and safety
Skills Required
The successful candidate will:
  • Have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role
  • Have a degree in construction management or similar
  • Demonstrate strong management capabilities along with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Manage the performance of external consultants and sub-contractors as required and work to tight deadlines
  • Be keen to progress in a diverse and growing business
