Architectural Technician required to assist in the delivery of upcoming high-rise multi-residential projects

About the Role
Due to ongoing growth & an ever-expanding pipeline of work, GEOCON has brought design in-house. GEOCON are looking to appoint an Architectural Technician to assist in the delivery of upcoming high-rise multi-res projects. 

Working as part of the project team, the Architectural Technician will be responsible for all aspects of design management including design coordination, modelling and scheduling in an advanced Building Information Modelling environment.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Create and modify Building Information Models and content included therein to defined modelling standards
  • Work with the Project Architect and Consultants to coordinate and resolve design and building issues.
  • Implement changes resulting from resolution of design issues and clash-detection of the 3D models
  • Work with a Project Architect and other draftspersons to create high quality DA, tender and construction drawing packages
  • Extract schedules and other associated data from the Building Information Model
  • Participate in design meetings with the Project Manager, GEOCON design team and consultants
  • Ensure a high level of systems compliance
Skills Required
The successful candidate will have:
  • Excellent Revit skills with a minimum of 3 years' post graduate experience
  • Experience working in a team environment 
  • Have minimum diploma or equivalent in building design/drafting
  • Experience in construction documentation of residential or large-scale commercial projects beneficial but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work solidly within a team
  • Willingness to adhere to strong documentation and modelling standards
  • Show strong interest and an aptitude to working with technology in the design space
