About the role
This is a newly created, part-time position (0.6 FTE) reporting directly to the General Manager Clinical Programs, Research and Innovation. The role is on a fixed term contract until 31 August 2021, in alignment with project funding. The Program Coordinator (Lung Ambition Alliance) will play a key role in operationalising a digital referral pathway and health service engagement strategy to increase access for patients in regional, rural, and remote locations and those with poor access to local specialist nurse services. Specific responsibilities of the role are as follows:
  • End-to-end program coordination – establishing a project advisory committee and developing and implementing a project plan
  • Establishing positive and proactive relationships with hospital-based health professionals
  • Creating and embedding sustainable referral pathways for the Lung Cancer Support Nurse Service
  • Supporting the development of resources for lung cancer patients and promotional materials to raise awareness and promote the program
  • Contributing to the program evaluation for continuous improvement and reporting functions
Skills, experience, and competencies required
  • Demonstrated project/program coordination experience (Health and/or Not-for-Profit sector ideal but not essential)
  • Background in nursing or relevant allied health, including social work, clinical psychology, speech pathology, physiotherapy, occupational therapy or dietetics is highly desirable
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills – you will have demonstrated experience in proactively engaging and fostering long-term relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Strong sense of initiative– you will proactively seek out opportunities and information from a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Innovative and strategic approach to program development and implementation
  • A shared passion and determination to play a key role in delivering the mission and vision of the organisation
