About the role
Reporting directly to the Service Delivery Manager, this role offers a blend of team leadership and health program delivery. Sixty percent of this position will lead a team of 10 staff who deliver programs and services for the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS), and forty percent of this role will be responsible for delivering these programs and services alongside their team members. This is a full-time position on a fixed term contract until the 30th of June 2022, with possibility of extension. The Health Services Team Leader will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Day-to-day management, coaching and development of the Health Professional team
  • Overseeing and supporting rostering activities and ad hoc scheduling for unplanned activities
  • Identifying training and development needs, and ensuring internal program accreditation is maintained across the team
  • Delivering evidence-based diabetes prevention and self-management information, education and advice (face-to-face and virtual) to Queenslanders across various settings
  • Developing written information on diabetes prevention and management for the organisation’s website, resources and publications
Skills, competencies and experience required
  • Exceptional team leadership and people management skills
  • Experience working with people living with diabetes and demonstrated clinical knowledge of diabetes management
  • Highly experienced in team operations management and program service delivery
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – you will be able to work with, and deliver education to, a diverse stakeholder group
  • Flexible, can-do attitude - you will be working in an ever-changing, fast paced environment
  • Current Drivers License
