At Catholic Early EdCare we share all parents aspirations to watch their children grow.  We do this by incorporating the latest early education research and practice into our programs and creating spaces where children can connect, grow and discover.  Good Shepherd Child Care Services, is one of over 130 Catholic Early EdCare services and part of the Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane operating in South East Queensland.
We are looking for a dynamic ECT who can fill a 12 month Maternity Leave position with a possible contract to include other roles. The successful candidate will be an inspiring and motivated ECT who can think outside the box, to deliver unique learning experiences for all our children and families.
The ECT will join a team of educators who cater for children from 6 weeks to school age. Together with families, the staff work to provide programs in the best interests of the children.
Good Shepherd Child Care Services is a 263 place hub, combined outside school hours care, long day care service and Kindergarten. The hub is in a new modern building with new facilities and resources, and has community rooms. The Hub is located on school grounds too. This service is an integral part of the catholic community.

Hours: 37.5 per week
Remuneration: as per the Educational Services (Teachers) Modern Award 2010. Rate negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsibility for the development and implementation of a kindergarten program
  • Delivery of a high quality inclusive, education program
  • Provide children with a safe, secure, welcoming and nurturing environment
  • Provide effective educational leadership through building the capacity of educators by inspiring, motivating, affirming, challenging and extending their practice and pedagogy
  • Work collaboratively within an established team to ensure the best outcomes for children and families
  • Participate in professional and personal development
  • Promote the service within the local community in accordance with the Vision, Mission and Values of Catholic Early EdCare
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or equivalent as per ACECQA guidelines
  • Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers
  • First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis
  • Working with Children Check (Blue Card) from the Queensland Government
  • Consent to being the Responsible Person on site in the absence of the Director
  • Knowledge and understanding of the National Quality Framework and National Law/Regulations.
  • Conversant with Early Years Learning Framework & the QLD Kindergarten Learning Guidelines
  • Experience in education and care of children
  • An ability to interpret curriculum documents
  • Experience with Xplor (Child Care software)
  • Effective oral and written communication within the workplace
