Support Workers – Hervey Bay and Maryborough
Multiple Permanent Part Time Positions Available
For 60 years Centacare Community Services has been the social services arm of the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Brisbane. With over 1700 employees working from 200 sites across South East Queensland, our employees are the heart of our organisation.
We are expanding service delivery across the Hervey Bay and Maryborough area and are seeking to recruit experienced Support Workers to work across our Aged Care and Disability services with a focus on in home support for NDIS clients. 
Support Workers play a significant and important role in working with our clients to achieve their goals and live their very best lives. Clients and Support Workers often build strong relationships based on shared interests and mutual understanding. Currently we have a number of clients requiring support with their interests, activities and participation in the community.
Successful Support Workers:
  • Work closely with families to support their loved one
  • Promote independent living skills and choices
  • Participate in the development of Person Centred Planning
  • Implement client centred activities in community programs
  • Promote positive attitudes within the community
  • Assist with personal care, domestic duties, medication, meal preparation and household budgeting
  • Undertake manual handling and hoisting of clients
  • Complete documentation of day to day service delivery including incident reporting in accordance with organisational procedures.
Please note this role involves a combination of day/night shifts, sleepovers and weekends
The ideal candidate has:
  • A passion for providing quality care
  • Qualifications in Aged Care/Community will be highly regarded
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex support needs
  • Great availability! The more available you are the more shifts we can potentially offer you
  • The physical capability to carry out all tasks
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent time management and problem solving skills
  • A current "C" class Drivers Licence
  • A roadworthy and registered vehicle
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certificate
  • A National Criminal History (Police) check or willingness to obtain
  • A Working with Children 'Blue' card with a 'Yellow' card Exemption or willingness to obtain
  • Evidence of eligibility and right to work in Australia
  • Certificate of completion of the “NDIS Worker Orientation Module” –
All workers of registered NDIS providers must complete the module'-  to assist the people working in the sector to support people with disability.

You will be paid in accordance with our Collective Agreement with the base salary commencing at $47,458 ($24/hr ) or higher depending on your qualification and/or previous experience.
