Centacare Family & Relationship Services is seeking to appoint a fulltime 12month Sexual Assault Practitioner for the Sexual Assault and Family and Relationship Services. The role is based at Kingaroy. Remuneration for this position is paid in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award, minimum level 5.
  
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Practitioner who will assist in the provision of high quality trauma-informed, solutions focused counselling and support for clients impacted by sexual assault, and general family and relationship counselling.  The role will include psycho-educational and therapeutic groups and will offer opportunities to support and work with diverse families with complex needs.

Skills and Experience:
  
  • knowledge, skills and experience in the provision of brief, trauma-informed, solution-focused counselling and psycho-educational and therapeutic groups for those impacted by sexual violence and family and relationship issues
  • well-developed understanding of Domestic and Family Violence, Child Protection and Family Law issues and the impact on families
  • demonstrated articulation of a well-developed practice framework for sexual violence and skills and experience in intake, risk assessment, crisis intervention, case management and safety planning
  • extensive knowledge of Domestic and Family Violence Act, Child Protection Act and the Family Law Act
  • well-developed written work including report writing, case notes, data collection, data entry and computer literacy skills
  
Essential:
  
  • relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioural Sciences, from a recognised tertiary institution
  • eligibility for membership of APS, AASW, or similar recognised professional association
  • have a current Blue Card – or be eligible to apply
  • agree (if offered employment), that Centacare can conduct an Australian Federal Police Criminal History Check
  • agree to sign a statutory declaration stating you have no overseas criminal offences
  • have Australian Work Rights – Australian citizenship/Visa documentary evidence is to be provided at interview (please contact us for detail if needed)
