Centacare Family and Relationship Services (CFRS) is a non-profit community organisation that supports the strengthening of family and community relationships, particularly where there is vulnerability and disadvantage. The Role:
 
Centacare Family and Relationship Services (CFRS) is part of Centacare in the Archdiocese of Brisbane. Our branches respond to local community needs throughout South East Queensland. We have extensive experience in the delivery of men’s behaviour change programs and domestic violence court support and advocacy for women along with partner agencies on the Gold Coast.
 
The service facilitates a number of 16 week groups for men who perpetrate domestic and family violence, via a case management model. This position will be based on the Gold Coast.
 
Practitioner Key Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive risk assessment, case management, co-facilitation of men’s behaviour change and/or maintenance groups;
  • Referrals for additional services including housing and family support, client advocacy, and practical support to ensure safety and well-being of our clients in all their diversity.
  • Gendered analysis of Domestic and Family Violence.

  • participate in consultative and collaborative strategies with other practitioners
  • work to provide equitable services for clients
 
Skills and Experience:
 
  • demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in mediating with families from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the domestic violence sector
  • knowledge of the Domestic Violence Legislation, Practice Standards and crisis intervention is essential.
  • well-developed written work including report writing, case notes, data collection, data entry and computer literacy skills
 
Essential:
 
  • relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social or Behavioral Sciences, from a recognised tertiary institution
  • eligibility for membership of PACFA, APS, AASW, or similar recognised professional association
  • have a current Blue Card – or be eligible to apply
  • agree (if offered employment), that Centacare can conduct an Australian Federal Police Criminal History Check
  • agree to sign a statutory declaration stating you have no overseas criminal offences
  • have Australian Work Rights – Australian citizenship/Visa documentary evidence is to be provided at interview (please contact us for detail if needed)

Remuneration:
 
This position is a full-time working 38 hours per week. The minimum remuneration package is Social Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award Level 5.
