Prospect Recruitment are partnering with an industry leading company who are currently seeking an experienced Technical Writer Document Controller for their Sydney CBD Office.

About the Role
The Document Controller / Technical Writer is primarily responsible for developing, updating and registering of a variety of operational documents and maintaining the document control system to ensure the company maintains their system following ISO compliance standards. You will also assist with ensuring company compliance to the QMS processes and procedures to satisfy ISO requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and maintain all projects technical documentation and maintenance manuals
  • Utilise current templates to update or develop documents such as standard operating procedures, training and competence assessment material, maintenance work instruction, etc.
  • Identify opportunities for continual improvement and implement initiatives with SA documents and WI process/procedures
  • Identify key scope steps from relevant system drawings, manuals and associated documentation for inclusion of data packs and attachments
  • Liaising with key stakeholders

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience in similar role in Heavy Industry (Mining, Oil, Gas, Manufacturing)
  • Experience with ISO, Quality management systems, and document control, knowledge of risk assessments
  • The ability to produce and control user documents (i.e. policies, procedures, instructions, forms etc) to meet Quality compliance
  • The ability to write and adapt documents to meet a target audience
  • Support and contribute to meetings and discussions relating to development of document maps and framework
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate and work with others across departments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High level accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously and flexibly
  • Above all, a positive, 'Can Do' attitude with a passion for waste/cost reduction
  • Results driven individual that works well in a team environment
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Analytical with good planning and problem-solving
