Prospect Recruitment are partnering with an industry leading company who are currently seeking an experienced Manufacturing Production Manager (Mechanical) for their Prestons Branch.

About the Role
Working in this key role of Manufacturing Production Manager at our Prestons Facility in NSW, you will be naturally a fun and optimistic leader with vast background of industrial mechanical equipment, a ‘can-do’ attitude and an unquenchable thirst to get things done!

Management of day to day operations you will oversee the beginning to end of the manufacture and assembly of the air movement products as well as working with the warehouse team to ensure on time delivery of customer orders and projects. 

At this stage candidates without Mining, Oil, Gas, Energy or Automotive Manufacturing experience will not be contacted.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervision and performance of the workshop - ensuring all work is completed safely, on-time, on-budget and to our high-quality standards.
  • Planning and scheduling the assembly and timely dispatch of all products and services.
  • Understanding of workplace HSE, ensuring that all work practices comply with current standards and statutory requirements.
  • In-process and outgoing quality control processes and development of a team which lives and breathes 'quality at the source'.
  • Identification and execution of key improvement initiatives.
  • Reporting of all quality, non-conformances promptly, and taking prompt and appropriate action to immediately mitigate risk.
  • Liaising with key stakeholders including engineering and project management teams.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Manage teams of 20-50 people in a mechanical production environment
  • Hands on approach, leads by example
  • Mechanical trade with 5 years minimum post trade
  • Previous Leading Hand, Supervisor or Management experience (minimum 2 years)
  • Above all, a positive, 'Can Do' attitude with a passion for waste/cost reduction
  • Results driven individual that works well in a team environment
  • Sound understanding of best practice manufacturing processes for mining and utilities equipment in the heavy engineering realm
  • Well-developed leadership and people management skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Analytical with good planning and problem-solving
