Due to an internal transfer, we have a great opportunity for a Food Services Team Leader to join our residential aged care facility in Alexander Headlands!  Hours will be full time 9am to 5:30pm. 

About your role

This is a rewarding hands-on, fast paced role, leading the food services team to ensure a high standard of meals are prepared and served to our residents consistently. You will be customer service focused and committed to ensuring:  
  • all foods are handled according to the food safety plan and compliant with the Aged Care Nutrition and Hydration requirements;
  • consistent communication with central production kitchens on quantity and quality;
  • special meals are prepared to meet the dietary and cultural needs of the individual residents (within budgetary constraints);
  • meals are prepared and presented within set time frame to ensure freshness, quality and to maintain food safety;
  • food wastage is monitored and registered;
  • all food is prepared, cooked, served and stored in accordance with the relevant State Food Regulations and Food Safety Program;
  • regular cleaning of all areas within the kitchen and kitchenettes as per schedule and Food Safety Plan;
  • staff maintain a high standard of personal hygiene;
  • ordering, delivery, stock control and food storage processes;
  • you provide effective leadership and supervision of the day to day to day activities of the catering team.
What do we need from you?
  • Certificate IV in Food Services or Commercial Cookery or equivalent skills and experience;
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial catering or other food services in an aged care facility or similar; 
  • Certificate – Food Safety Supervisor;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of State Food Safe Regulations;
  • Passion for customer service and ability to lead a team;
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team;
  • National Police Check or ability to obtain(valid within the last 3 years).
