About the role  

Our Hotel Services employees are an integral part of our team, ensuring our Chefs and Cooks can dedicate their time to making sure every meal time is a special occasion for our senior residents and that their home is sparkling clean. You may assist in the kitchen, in housekeeping or in the laundry. It is a great all-rounder role. In this important role, you will assist our Toowoomba team with: 
  • Food preparation for cooking and service
  • Serving meals and ensuring a friendly, interactive experience for our residents
  • Assisting with cooking and tidying for the Chefs and Cooks during service
  • General cleaning, using industrial cleaning chemicals, vacuum cleaners, carpet extractors, polishers, cloths, mops, scrubbing brushes, commercial scrubbers or other similar products/equipment
  • Cleaning duties using specialised equipment and chemicals for more specialised purposes
  • Laundering, pressing/ironing and folding of items such as linen, customers’ garments, cleaning/kitchen clothes, mops or garments, utilising washing, drying, extracting, pressing, folding or other industrial machines/equipment, as required
  • Collection and distribution of personal effects mistakenly sent to the laundry
  • Rubbish removal, dish washing and general cleaning  
  • Cleaning of residents rooms and communal areas.
  • Ability to use or willingness to learn how to use industrial cleaning machines.
  • Work in a team or individually.
  • Complete documentation where required.

What do we need from you?

  • Previous experience in hotel services in either Aged Care or hospital practice setting
  • Willingness to take direction from others
  • Reliability and shift flexibility 
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Police Check (valid within the last 3 years) 
  • Working rights in Australia 
  • A pre-employment medical assessment may be required for this role
