We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Officer to join our team at our residential aged care facility, Bolton Clarke Cabrini.

Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader and based at our Cabrini residential aged care facility, a permanent full time opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Officer to join our team.

This position will undertake regular corrective and planned routine maintenance around the site including buildings, equipment and grounds.

About the role  
  • Carry out preventative maintenance tasks such as undertaking visual inspections of building, plant and equipment to identify items that require maintenance or repairs
  • Carry out minor repairs to buildings, plant and equipment
  • Respond to maintenance issues, including requests and complaints in a timely and professional manner
  • Oversee the maintenance and/or gardening services work performed by outside contractors
  • Complete the ordering, delivery, stock control process for consumable items used in maintenance and gardening activities for area of responsibility
  • Assist more senior employees in budgeting for maintenance and gardening costs in relation to area of responsibility
  • Assist in coordinating and directing the work of staff performing maintenance and/or gardening duties
  • Ensure that for work undertaken the relevant Australian Standards and Regulations are observed
  • Comply with health and safety requirements relating to maintenance and gardening activities
  • Some after-hour call outs will be required (rotating roster)
What do we need from you?
  • Certificate IV level qualification (e.g. Certificate IV in Engineering, Certificate IV in Parks and Gardening)
  • Demonstrated experience in undertaking maintenance duties
  • Demonstrated knowledge of building and allied trades in relation to maintenance
  • Experience in planning and managing job allocations in a timely manner
  • Sound knowledge of computer software programs
  • Empathy towards aged persons and their requirements living within a Retirement Village or Residential Care facility
  • Availability to work Monday through to Friday from 7am until 3pm, and participate in a after-hours On-Call roster
  • If appointed a satisfactory police check will be required
  • A pre-employment medical may be required for this role
