Windows Server Administrator L2

Purpose of Role:
To provide 1st and 2nd level technical support to Brennan IT clients, engineers and staff; 1st level monitoring and technical support to Brennan IT clients and staff. To coordinate, collaborate and escalate incidents within established timelines.
To continuously improve the Efficiency and Excellence of Service Delivery as measured by Client Satisfaction ratings.

Key activities of the role include:
  • Administration of Windows Server Assessments and Backup Monitoring
  • Execution of maintenance items out of hours (Patching)
  • Out Of Hours server reboots & checks
  • Best Practice Customer Env. Assessment
  • Schedule Server Assessments and review of Event Log (for MS like CS)
  • Print server management
  • User and access management (password, user management, folder access, group policies, drive mapping, mail box management, delegation of rights)
  • Vendor Management (hardware and Software vendors – HP ,Dell, MS, VM, Citrix and others)
  • Endpoint Antivirus management and updates
  • On premises backup alert management and monitoring
  • Change management
  • Mitigation for penetration testing
  • Preparing reports
Experience: 5 to 9 yrs. of experience in Windows Server Administration / System Administration / Wintel Administration / IT Technical Support role for international clients, preferably in MS IT provider / IT Companies.

  • Demonstrable Industry based technical aptitude (e.g. Microsoft, Citrix, HP)
  • Industry based certifications
  • Tertiary qualifications
  • Advanced Industry based certifications
  • ITIL Service Management Foundation accreditation
  • Industry based technical certifications (e.g. Microsoft, Citrix, VMWare, EMC, HP)
  • Troubleshooting SCOM and SCCM agents
Essential Skills:
  • Windows Server 2008/2012/2016, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy
  • Active Directory 2008 and above
  • Vmware / Virtualization (Hyper – V)
  
Desired Skills:
  • Skills in the following technologies
  • MCSE or MCITP Windows Server 2012 or higher
  • MCP in Windows Desktop
  • - Symantec Backup Exec or ArcServe backup
  • - StorageCraft or Veeam
  • - Citrix or MS RDS (central infra. Is management by Aus. Team)
  • - Symantec Endpoint or McAfee or Sophos
  • - Understanding of Tape libraries and tape rotation
  • ITIL V3 Foundation is desirable
  • Any Hardware Server exposure (Vendor Cert would be nice to have)
