Embedded software / firmware engineer with knowledge of low-level electronics to work on consumer products

A leading Australian consumer product manufacturer based in the Bankstown area of Sydney are currently seeking a firmware engineer to join their team of embedded firmware and electronics engineers.

The company develop products that are used by tens of thousands of people across Australia every day, and seek an engineer that can take their development to the next level, implementing new IoT features, and helping their product range grow further.

The position requires an engineer with 5+ years relevant experience with good knowledge of 16 and 32-bit microcontrollers and clear C coding abilities. A basic knowledge of hardware development is also desirable.

Requirements of the role:
  • 5+ years’ experience in embedded firmware design (system level and PCBA test systems)
  • Good knowledge of embedded C
  • 16/32-bit microcontrollers (Microchip and ST)
  • Knowledge of low-level drivers (UART, SPI, I2C)
  • Familiar with tortoise SVN version control systems
  • Relevant degree qualification
  • Good communication skills
Desirable skills:
  • Understanding of low-level electronics
  • Experience with FreeRTOS
  • Experience in IoT (e.g. Wi-Fi, LoRaWAN, Zigbee)
  • Knowledge of iOS, Android or Windows software development
